"As our name suggests, my name is Alex. At 10 years old I found a mother red-legged partridge with 13 chicks running along the side of a busy road and we decided to bring them home to rear.
Both my father and grandfathers had a keen interest in birds but this was my first experience of bird keeping, and I was instantly hooked.
Over 20 years have now gone by and I have kept birds ever since that day. I started to build my first aviary at 12 years old and have slowly expanded over the years to get to where I am today, hatching and rearing thousands of birds each year.
Over the years I have gained extensive knowledge in many aspects of incubating and hatching and have been successful in rearing many species. I have kept countless breeds from the smallest finches to the largest emus, learned a lot along the way, and developed a business I love.
I have a particular interest in species that are rare and find great satisfaction from breeding these birds to ensure they are still here in the future. I hope to continue to add to this list in the years to come...
...i also hope that the next generation will enjoy keeping them as much as i do!"
